I just hate it when you have to visit the bathroom at night and the bright light wakes you up completely.

Solution: well there are many but I decided I want to make something useful that would also cover a hole in the wall that was meant for a switch :)

I used some breadboard, a voltage regulator or a DC step-down (I used LD29150DT50R), an ESP8266 (Wemos D1 Pro) module, TTP223 touch sensor module, SHT21 temperature and humidity sensor module, 2 LED strips of about 40 cm length and 2 PCS N-FET (I used IRLB3034 that I had on hand - not really great for this application but it works).

!!! IMPORTANT !!!

This PCB is designed to work on 12 V DC! I have a small 230 V AC to 12 V DC power supply on the hallway.

!!! IMPORTANT !!!

Why 2 FETs? So I can drive each strip separately because I can :P (Tasmota's PWM is flickering so I used 2 channels to reduce the flicker. I just realised it may flicker because of the FETs I used. Oh well)

To reduce ghost switching of the TTP223 I soldered a 10 uF and a 100 nF capacitor between VCC and GND of the module.

I used a very thin wire for the "antenna" of TTP223 so sensor now works on quite far away (about 5 cm).

I hope the schematics is good enough (and correct), I've made this one after quite a few years. Time to get back in shape :P

Short demo video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-0Jv6-taZg
Category: Electronics
