Wallet with ID holders

IntroHey guys! This is a small wallet thing that I have been working on. It features 2 card slots with windows, suitable for things such as ID's and Drivers Licenses that you might want to show. It additionally has three compartments, each of which holds 2 cards for a total of 6 cards inside and a total of 8 cards in total. The wallet has three “button” style things at the bottom to push up the contents of a chosen compartment for easy access. The ID compartments work by simply sliding the cards in and keep the cards in place until you need them again. I also included a keychain ring for an AirTag or other key chain type thing. Overall it works pretty well and has held up over the course of my testing and usage. InstructionsPrintingPrint in the same orientation of the file (right side up). Due to the relatively small surface area of the bottom of the print, I had best results printing with a brim. Infill doesn't matter as this thing is almost entirely perimeter. I printed in PLA, but I can imagine getting greater longevity out of PETG. The button parts print as positioned in the files, with flat side down, and should print in the realm of 10 minutes. Assembly To assemble this thing simply slide the buttons into their slots from the top openings. Make sure the numbered buttons line up with the numbers on the side of the wallet case itself. It might take a little finagling but should go in with proper effort. Next you will want to install the card retention cord. I used a piece of this flexible filament that advertised itself as a “hot end purger and cleaner” on Amazon but any piece of flexible filament (or even regular string) should work. I installed this by filling half of the channel on the bottom with hot glue, positioning the filament, and then (once dry) pulling the filament over the entire wallet and gluing the other end down in the other half of the channel. Make sure this cord is taught, as it is what is holding your cards in place. I found myself to have best results with installation when I had already filled up the card slots. This allowed a more accurate fit for the cable and made sure the cable wouldn't slide off in my pocket. UsagePretty simple. To show ID simply present that side of the wallet. To access a card, simply slide the retention cord out of the top divot and over the edge of the wallet. Press the button for your desired card's channel, and slide out the card that you want. Sounds complicated, it really isn't and in my experience is about as easy as a regular bifold wallet. To put your card back simply slide it back into the slot and slide the retention cord back over them until it is held by the divots. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know in the comments. Happy printing!
