Wallet

1/12/2018: Added a large version, slightly thicker, able to hold a bill folded in half rather than thirds. This simple one-compartment wallet is just big enough to hold a credit card or two, your license, business cards and some cash. It fits easily into your back pocket. I made this using PCTPE nylon which gives it flexibility for easy closure and toughness. After an airport pat-down due to my unrecognizable license photo, I needed something to protect it from dirt and grit in my pocket without a full-size wallet. This design meets that need perfectly. My name is on the inside as raised lettering. I included Sketchup version 8 files for customization or additional features since it can get sketchy with curves on small dimensions. Export STL files in meters (x1000 scale) instead of millimeters. The two halves snap together without a hinge - just press your thumb against it and open. No guarantee of water-tightness yet. How I Designed This Made with PCTPE nylon on my Printrbot Simple Metal using a 0.75mm tip, 0.2mm layer height, 100% fill. Print speed was 40 mm/s for the top, 20 mm/s for the bottom and no fan. For this design which tends to pull up on edges, use a brim and ensure good bed adhesion. I use adhesive-back polyester film on glass and add hair spray for extra hold on nylon. If starting with Sketchup files, export in meters not millimeters as the model is scaled x1000 for better curves and follow-me's.
