Original belt layout beneath the bed was disliked, so improvements were made after noticing loose belts post-construction. Borrowing parts from various designs, a new Y motor mount and standard 6mm bed supports for Wallace were implemented. The functioning setup can be viewed in this YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LibplYh-9XI. A scalable motor mount is also available for those who prefer the smaller version of Wallace. Certain email credits remain unknown, but the new parts require 28cm, 280mm long 6mm threaded rod. The Y motor was repositioned with only two screws to allow Rack travel over other holes. Assembled with bed mounts, it's essential for pinion and rack alignment. Pinion collar should be at the shaft's top, secured via press-on or screw mount pinion, resting flush on the motor rod. Rack is mounted to the bed with belt screw holes. Slide the belt idler (with plastic pulleys removed) behind the smooth Rack side, which doesn't touch unless special rings are made. The assembled bed should be snugly placed near the Y motor, tightened into position without pressuring the Rack. Manually slide the bed and test the R&P motion. Adjust Y steps in firmware (77.4790 for this setup). Enjoy the convenience of never having to adjust belts under the bed again!
