Wall Wire Detector (parametric)
thingiverse
This is a DIY project of a wall wire detector using a FET (Field-Effect Transistor). The FET with its non-connected GATE contact can detect the electric field produced by wires powering your lamps, TV sets and other appliances. When you need to drill into a wall, it's crucial to confirm that there are no hidden wires at the intended drilling spot. The project includes both schematic and case designs. If desired, you can swap out the LED for a headphone connector.
