General

When we were decorating our kids' bedroom we wanted some reading lights near the beds but didn't want to drill holes in the wall in case we changed our minds later. The wall sconces we bought came with some metal mount plates that are used for mounting them on an electrical box but wouldn't work well for surface mounting on the drywall.

I modeled this plate so that the screw heads are recessed and there is plenty of large surface area to accept 3M command strips for a good bond to the wall.

Usage

We mounted ours with 2 velcro style command strips (seen in the pictures) and they've been holding well for over 3 months with no sagging or issues.

I added the two curved slots so that if you do find the need to mount this to the wall using screws you can set the angle of the sconce to be level even after it's been mounted on the wall.
