Wall Rack for Filament
thingiverse
This is my first stab at designing and printing from scratch entirely on my own. I needed a more organized system to store rolls of filament so I came up with a simple wall rack made of 1x2 sections and 3/4 inch dowels. There are two lower sections, one on the left and one on the right, and a top piece to mount to the wall securely. I fastened the top and bottom with silicone RTV but you can also use crazy glue or similar strong adhesives. You can use 3/4 inch wood dowels or as I did, 3/4 inch aluminum decking rails for added durability. I also cut a corner wedge and installed it to provide extra support if needed. That is completely optional though. This project was done on an Anet A8 with standard settings only. I managed to lay the print on its side but you can also print upright if that's your preference. One final point to remember: for extra strength, print at 100% fill to add more overall support. It may take longer, but it will be worth it in the end.
