We recently switched our office phone system to Cisco 8945 desk phones but were disappointed to find no official or third-party wall mount brackets available. To solve this problem, we designed a 3D printable mounting bracket that utilizes existing slots in the back of the phone. Initially, the design was one piece, but for better printing results, it's now printed in two separate pieces. To print, use PLA or ABS as ABS is more durable than PLA. Support should be enabled when slicing, especially for the small tab. The bracket can withstand moderate stress but may not hold up well in high-traffic areas. After a year of service, we introduced a reinforced version with beefier gussets and additional mounting holes. Before printing the entire bracket, print out a test piece to check the fit of tabs. Use at least 50% infill and support when slicing. Deburr the print, ensuring clean and well-defined mounting tabs. To install, secure the brackets using fasteners in countersunk screw holes. Orient the bracket correctly with smaller pointed tabs on top and larger squared-off tabs at the bottom. To attach the phone, rotate it upward to snap in the upper tab. Remove by carefully bending a small upper tab with a flat blade screwdriver. If the bracket breaks, simply print a new one. To keep the handset from falling off when on the hook, remove and reverse a plastic piece below the hang-up button on the phone.
