Wall Mounted Stack-able Filament Spool Holder
thingiverse
I got fed up with storing my filament on the ground, so I started looking for a better solution. That's when I came up with this idea - stackable filament holders that can be mounted directly onto the wall. As many spools as you print is how many spools you can mount to the wall, making it easy to keep your workspace organized. These holders work both vertically and horizontally, so you can choose the configuration that works best for you. This design uses a standard wooden closet rod through the hole in the middle of each holder. The rod should be no larger than 1.375 inches in diameter. To use this system, simply slide one bracket onto the rod to keep it in place vertically, and then swap out your filament rolls as needed. Alternatively, you can print two brackets and attach them at both ends of the rod for horizontal mounting. The only drawback is that printing each bracket takes a bit of time. However, I've included some renderings of what the final product will look like once assembled - just keep in mind that they're missing the closet rod for now, as I still need to buy one and cut it to length before completing the project.
