PLA printed spool holder for Atomic style spools utilizes 608ZZ bearings for a smooth spinning action and features a hub that attaches directly to the spool for easy changing of spools using printed bolts. These bearings can be sourced super cheap from China, but I purchased mine from a US seller on Amazon.com. A video demonstrating this item with assembly tips is available at https://youtu.be/RpHt4_WRWqs. To protect your spools from dust, consider creating a dust cover as shown in another video at https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=Sjfv0LLx3uQ. This project can also be accessed on TinkerCad for modification to the hub, available here: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/6e5ORrr4IPx-wall-mounted-spool-system. Printer settings used: - Printer brand: RepRap - Printer model: Sunhokey Prusa I3 - Rafts: No - Supports: No - Resolution: 0.3mm - Infill: Varies by part, see video Printing notes: - Print the long and short spindle, hub bolt, end screws at 100% infill. - Print the hub nut at 20% infill. - The spool frame can be printed at any level of infill that you trust. Post-printing assembly: 1. Screw one short spindle into the hub nut. 2. Screw one long spindle into the hub bolt. 3. Tighten the spindle ends securely, possibly gluing them in place for added stability. 4. Press fit two 608ZZ or similar bearings into the frame as shown in the video. 5. Attach to a wall, ceiling, or desk using #8 wood screws.
