This one is for all you nostalgia buffs out there. Let me tell you kids, back in the day when digital music files first hit the scene, hundreds of Compact Disks filled up nearly every house - they served as a crude storage medium. I still go the extra mile to buy CDs directly from my favorite bands so that they can at least see some return on investment. Meanwhile, I still get into this weird habit of needing to stash away the rips of my beloved music for safekeeping - a quirk similar to recording vinyl tracks onto cassette tapes in the old days, which left the original records spotless. In any case, after all's said and done, my wife may demand that they be locked away in the workshop, but personally I want my entire music collection on display. As a spin-off from ThingsFromNothing's incredible DVD storage project, I set out to build something smaller for my CD jewels. The two photos really show just how drastic a scale reduction this mini version truly is when compared to its original giant form - it even allows standard size CD jewel cases to snugly fit in without issue.
