Wall mounted cell phone cradle
thingiverse
After designing and building numerous phone holders and cradles, I have come to realize that what I truly desired was a device that could be mounted directly to the wall, allowing for easy attachment of a charging cable. Given my tendency to frequently rearrange items in my space, I created versions with pre-drilled holes specifically designed to accommodate "3M Command Adhesive Strips," which are my preferred method for mounting objects without damaging the surrounding paint. The inclusion of speaker slots in these designs also enables users to neatly hang their charging cables when not in use. I engineered this device to fit my Galaxy S8 smartphone, which is equipped with an Otter Box case. To accommodate phones of varying sizes, I specified a cavity that measures 15mm in depth and 76mm in width, while ensuring all walls are 5mm thick. If your phone is wider or thicker than mine, you can adjust the dimensions accordingly by widening or thinning the case as needed. This may require some basic mathematical calculations to determine the necessary adjustments. For instance, if your phone measures 82mm wide, you would need to calculate the difference between its width and the case's width (76mm), which is 6mm. By dividing this value by the case's width (76mm), we get 0.08 or 8%. Therefore, you might need to adjust the case's width by approximately 108% to accommodate your phone. As for my proficiency in mathematics, let's just say it's not my strongest subject! Edit: I have recently added a new version that features a detachable flap designed to connect directly to a car vent.
