Just got your new MMU2/S, but unable to enjoy it because of clutter? This adapter allows the Universal Auto-Rewind Spool Holder to be used with the Prusa MMU2 Wall Mount Spool Holder. Description --------------------- After purchasing my MMU2S, I ran out of space for 5 spools, Prusa filament buffer, and the printer on my surface. I built a wall-mounted setup with the Wall Mount Spool Holder linked above and removed the Prusa filament buffer. This worked well and looked amazing, but I had issues with filament tangling when the MMU backed up the filament for a change. I needed an auto-rewinder, but couldn't find anything compatible with my existing rack. This led me to creating this adapter. Parts --------------------- To use this, you'll need... * Prusa MMU2 Wall Mount Spool Holder (**not** included) * Modified 80mm Universal Auto-Rewind Spool Holder (included) * RackAdapter (*6x for full size rack*) (included) * 8x120mm axle rod (*1x / rewinder*) (from Prusa spool holders) * 608 bearings (*2x / rewinder*) (from Prusa spool holders) Assembly --------------------- 1. Print/build the Prusa MMU2 Wall Mount Spool Holder as described on its page, without spool rods. **IMPORTANT: Assemble the wall mount with a 100-110mm space between the racks.** There is a printable drilling guide included with the Wall Mounts thing files. 2. Print the included Rewinder_Assembly (slicing can take >5mins due to curvature of the spring). 3. Assemble the Rewinder as described on the Universal Auto-Rewind Spool Holder page, minus the stand & tube holder. 4. Slide the clips into position as shown in 3rd & 4th pictures. 5. Print RackAdapters (6x for full size rack e.g. 5 spools). 6. Push the RackAdapter*s into place on the racks. 7. Set the Rewinder into the slots in the RackAdapter so that the anti-rotation notch on the rewinder spring is facing up (3rd picture). 8. Set spring tension on the clutch. 9. You're done!
