Wall Mount Spool Rack
thingiverse
After examining numerous spool holders, I opted to create my own from scratch. For now, wall mounting proves to be the simplest option, leading me to this design: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:119920. However, even after pruning away most of the excess volume, I found it to be overly robust structurally speaking. In addition, I stumbled upon this alternative: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:513457 but I preferred individual bars for the spools to make swapping easier. With this goal in mind, I came up with a design that enables easy additions of more spools since there are no distinct left and right ends. To further expand my mounting options, I designed two different brackets; one tilts upwards and the other downwards, allowing me to install two rows on a single board that can be easily moved to another wall when needed. To ensure proper assembly, please follow these instructions carefully: First, I crafted the parts in OpenSCAD, and once the code is polished up, it will be uploaded. The bar length should accommodate most standard spools, except for one slightly oversized model that needs a bit more consideration.
