Wall Mount Particle Photon Display
thingiverse
I created a remote display for a Photon-based sprinkler system that fits snugly inside a standard 4x4 electrical box. This display features a small pinhole reset button at its lower center and two touch sensor areas positioned on either side of the .96" display, creating a sleek and clean front view. This display seamlessly inserts into a Legrand 2-gang cover (model AWP2GWWH4) from Lowe's, requiring only a slight modification to the Legrand mounting plate for optimal fitment. The mounting plate is designed to hold two accessories, such as switches, outlets, or dimmers, featuring two metal separators that need to be bent out of the way by 90 degrees (into the box). With this adjustment, the display comfortably sets between the mounting and cover plates, obviating the need for the four plastic spacers included with the plate mount. I produced the display using PLA white, which closely matches the color of the cover plate at a 10% fill rate and .2 mm layer height. Small screws secure the assembled components together, while all electronics are held in place by the LCD support, Photon support, and touch mounts. To establish electrical connections, I employed wire-wrap technology. The touch sensors feature a red power LED, which I discreetly concealed using black finger nail polish to maintain a sleek appearance.
