Wall Mount for Philips Hue Hub 2.1
thingiverse
The Hue Hub mounting plate utilizes one or multiple 3M Command Strip adhesive tapes to securely fasten it to a convenient location on the wall. This ingenious design ensures that the Hub sits flush against the plate due to recesses for rubber anti-skid pads, preventing the Hub from popping off the mounting stud as you slide it down over the stud. You'll hear a distinct "click" sound when the feet settle into place within the recesses. To remove the baseplate, a slight bowing motion is necessary to dislodge the feet from their recessed positions, allowing for easy removal of the Hub off the mounting stud. A simple yet effective solution involves placing two command tapes at 10:30 and 1:30 analog clock positions, making it effortless to gently pull the Hub away from the wall and then slide it up off the stud once the rubber feet clear the recesses. For added security, a fragile mounting stud can be reinforced by threading a 5mm long 3mm or 2.5mm machine screw and nut through it, preventing accidental snapping. Once the hub is removed, the baseplate can be unmounted by gently pulling on the command tape tab(s) within the center hole of the baseplate, causing the tape to release slowly from the wall without causing any damage.
