This mounting bracket, designed for a 5/16 inch (8mm) threaded rod, allows you to securely attach it at a right angle to a wall. It features a captive nut in the back to keep the rod steady. The bracket will be useful for coiling small sections of filament once the current spool is depleted; this helps prevent exposure to humidity due to poor apartment conditions. To install, print the bracket solidly (avoiding supports) and locate a wall stud. Fasten the bracket with the captive nut, insert the threaded rod, and secure it with an external nut. Additionally, print 608 bearing hubs from this Thingiverse design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:16767) to enhance your spool functionality. However, note that your printer is currently undergoing emergency repairs, so plan accordingly.
