I created a small shelf that can hold most modern-sized cell phones, and it even accommodates my iPhone 6 in its Lifeproof Fre Power case with some extra room to spare. The screw holes are countersunk and sized to perfectly fit standard drywall screws, allowing them to be flush with the plate. This ended up being incredibly sturdy, as I printed it with a 15% infill, .2mm layers, three-layer top and bottom, and two-layer sides using PLA. My attempts to break or bend the shelf were unsuccessful even when putting almost my full weight on it, which may be overkill but gets the job done nicely. I encountered no issues with the very long bridges required to print the lip on the top of the print, but I did have to trim a few stray strands of PLA that were slightly droopy. However, they are not visible once the shelf is mounted against the wall. This project was printed on a Replicator 2 using Inland PLA and Simplify 3D as a slicer. If your phone measures larger than 3.5" by 6.5", you can easily modify the design to fit. I designed this thing in Tinkercad, and it's available for online editing at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/crbw1xKemXt
