Wall light switch cover for ZigBee switches
thingiverse
I live in an apartment and changing all my bulbs to be smart RGB/WW/CW bulbs, and wanting to just have the normal on-off available for me/myself, instead of having to reach for phones or what not. But didn't want to mess with the wall switches, because that opens me up to liability if anything ever happens. And a PITA when I live. So I created this cover to go over the existing rocker switches, and have a place for some ZigBee switches. This is for a standard US double-wide (2 switch) box, as well as a shallow inset to fit in the ZigBee switch. There's a small bit of room, and I used some E6000 in several spots and held it on with painters tape to get it to fully cure. The E6000 I should be able to pry off if I ever need to, and using a thin pry tool I can reach the spots to pull the front off to replace the battery when needed. These are the [ZigBee 3.0 switches](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002468093452.html) (1-3 switches) which work great with HomeAssistant/ZHA. Single/double/long presses, although I might eventually replace them with [these up & down double switches](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001227549409.html) now that I've started to use them. So I can have a more obvious dim/brighten interface. I have several that are in a single-wide switch box, although will probably be similarly wide because of the width of the ZigBee switches I bought. I'll upload separately.
