Wall-E Treads Remix (Normal, Worn, and Broken)

thingiverse

This is a remix of CHaosCoreTech's amazing Fully 3D Printable Wall-E Robot. I felt that the treads needed some rework to make them more movie accurate and flexible. CHaosCoreTech's treads are designed to be fully 3D printed, but these ones aren't. My design of the treads requires a 1mm wire to join the treads or something similar. I used small lengths of solid core CAT5e cable cut to the length of the pivots and a small drop of glue on the inside tip to keep them hidden from view. These treads are very flexible and act more like the movie version of the tracks. I have created 5 versions of the treads; a normal one, two different worn versions, one that has a broken left end, and one that has a broken right end (they're still fully functioning). These treads should work on your Wall-E even if you printed it with the original drive wheels that have the narrow drive dogs on them. I added 3 more treads. A different version of the worn one, this one a little more rounded. Two cracked ones, one cracked towards the center and one cracked towards the outsides. The cracks are appearance only and barely affect the strength of the tread. Good luck, and I hope you enjoy these remixes.
