2019-04-29: I uploaded more photos explaining details of Wall-E modifications. STL files for LCD frame and body nut are added. 2019-04-28: Hi there, Here's the next improvement I've made to the Great Original Project of Wall-E by ChaosCoreTech. In this remix, I used RK370CA 6V motors with 60RPM gear, 54mm length (link is attached below). This motor is powerful enough to run the Wall-E smoothly with plenty of force. To adapt legs to these motors, I had to modify all leg components. Details are included in the image files. Next, to reduce frictions as much as possible, I used ball bearings fi=11mm with an inner hole 5mm. Shafts are made of carbon fiber tube fi=5mm so it matches into the bearing hole with press. Next, the wheels are glued using super glue; though it is better to use an epoxy resin. All wheels turn smoothly. The big wheel is combined with gear wheel, as opposite to the original design. So now it is printed as one part. The big wheel gear is reversed to match distance to shaft of the motor. Therefore, the gear wheel (attached to the motor) is back off vs. original design and is attached to the motor's shaft with press. In addition, it has two wholes to allow to screw the motor to the holder. The new motor holder design is inspired by the original parts. The holes are compatible with the original design. Therefore, the bottom of the body (green on the image) does not need to be re-designed/re-printed. Wheels are separated by 3mm washer (at the outer side) and 6mm washers (at the inner side). Small wheels are also re-designed for smaller whole to match 5mm shaft. WARNING: When I assembled original legs, it turns out that the caterpillar flies off of the mid-wheels, especially during turning. I figured out that it is because original mid-wheel does not have teeths. So I re-design it. Now the caterpillar keeps its position while turning; however, the teeth distance is not matched precisely and the caterpillar works not so smoothly. Anyway, motors are strong enough to run the caterpillar anyway. motor: https://abc-rc.pl/product-pol-9395-Silnik-RK-370CA-z-przekladnia-6V-60RPM-Dl-54mm.html ball bearing: https://abc-rc.pl/product-pol-9781-Lozysko-kulkowe-5x11x5-os-5mm-typ-685ZZ.html carbon tube: https://slupeks.pl/rurka-weglowa-o-5030-x-1000-mm-p-1650.html Wall-E in action: https://youtu.be/hzoQLigGOKQ
