Wall-E eyes (big)

Wall-E eyes (big)

I had an idea to place a whole mobile phone inside Wall-E's eyes for my project. However, the available models online were not hollow, so I searched and downloaded a model from Google Warehouse. I created a hollow space inside large enough for a Samsung Galaxy S2. After tinkering with it, I generated an STL file, resulting in a closed surface with ample room to house a mobile phone. I contemplated adding an opening but found customized models costing over $1000, so put the idea on hold. I'm a software engineer and new to designing, spending a day to create this Wall-E model. I enjoyed learning about 3D printing and wanted to share my experience for others attempting similar projects.
