Walking Leg Mechanics Type 1 Tip & Lift

Walking Leg Mechanics Type 1 Tip & Lift

thingiverse

I'll be posting 3 different walking Mechanicals today, starting with this basic design. As it stands, this Mechanical Lifts and tips the gear box as it walks, which may not be ideal for solar-powered robots. For that purpose, I recommend using the LEVEL walking design I'll post later. A low-cost battery gear box with dual output shafts is a good option - you can find them almost anywhere online. You'll need a few screws and washers to hold it together, plus some 3D printed parts. Since I didn't include a body for this walking mechanism, I simply attached a battery box with a built-in switch to the frame, using two AA batteries. To make things easier, I've added a new motor small gear STL that includes a D slot running all the way through, allowing even longer shaft motors to seat properly in place. Additionally, I've included a body mount STL that you can print and glue to the motor frame, providing a flat surface for attaching a body if desired.
