Although completely thrilled with my journal, my son soon suggested I make the doors open individually. As a book, this would be extremely challenging and complicated to accomplish, so I created a box. I have reworked my original design, addressing the issue of thin handles that broke when I tried to insert the wood beam. Since then, I've made improvements but haven't printed the new design yet. As with my original journal, you'll need to use supports for the handles. Some assembly is required: the door frame must be glued to the box and the doors slotted into place. To finish off, I grabbed a picture from the internet to stick in the bottom of the box. Note that I've provided an STL file for the whole thing, but it's not intended to be printed as one solid piece; rather, each part should be printed individually.
