Walker's Over-Engineered SEEJ Engine
thingiverse
My Overhaul of the SEEJ Starter Set - I Prefer the Pennies over Cannonballs. Major changes have been made to nearly every component. The struts are now thinner, and the axis has been relocated. To minimize plastic usage, I've slimmed down the entire design slightly. However, I'm aware that this adjustment may be a flaw, so I plan to create a wide-body version in the near future. The atlas is deeper and features some aiming aids. The rear bar includes a trigger system - though the pins are quite small, a piece of wire works better as a substitute. The front bar now has prongs for mounting to a height-adjustable bar that allows you to aim up or down by 5-degree increments when attached to the base. The base itself is new and includes a hole for centering on a drawn or printed compass, as well as a line cutout to view your angle. The struts attach to the new rear hinge. I've added peg holes on each side to mount penny caddies for ammunition (which also adds some mass). Guides are now present on both the struts and the throwing arm to slot rubber bands into, resulting in cleaner twists. The arm is longer and can be printed without supports. The key features a cutout, allowing you to add a rubber band without cutting or knotting. Rubber bands simply fit over the entire machine and slot in. Suggestions for further modifications are welcome! More images will be added soon. Print Settings: Printer: Dremel Idea Builder Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 15% or so
