Walk The Plank Mouse Trap
thingiverse
I was browsing Google for a different mouse trap when I stumbled upon this DIY project created by multiple individuals. Then I came across this video: https://youtu.be/nsoVcrFyrF8 and thought, "Hey, I have a 3D Printer! I know they're affordable, but... you know... having a 3D Printer is awesome!" Anyway, I drew up the design and printed it out. It works fantastic! Here's the checklist: * 1 piece of each printed item * 2 M3-8 bolts * 2 M3-16 bolts * 2 M3-20 bolts or 2 zip ties * 1 10D nail * 2 wood screws * 1 1/4" cube neodymium magnet * 1 5-gallon bucket * 1 piece of approximately 24" long wood The only area that requires support is where the notch is located. I printed the three parts using PLA+ with 3 shells and 15% infill. Who cares, right? Side note: If you think a relatively quick drowning of a mouse is a "horrible" thing to do, take some time to check out what happens when two mice get caught and are left in an enclosed area overnight (there are videos available online)... (hint, one eats the other alive...)
