Wake-Up Light Alarm w/ MiLight
thingiverse
I drew inspiration from realifeonhold's Wake-Up Light Alarm Clock concept and opted not to use a dimmer switch controlled by Tasker. Instead, I utilized a spare MiLight RGBW light bulb and leveraged Node-Red for control. A globe light fixture was already installed in our home when we moved in, courtesy of the builder. The fixture measured 123MM in diameter, so I needed to enlarge the original design by 6.5% to ensure a proper fit. Since my fixtures required grounding, I incorporated the plate from the original mount into the design. To power the device, I repurposed an old broken hot glue gun's cord. The Node-Red flow was created by strelniece and is available at this link: http://flows.nodered.org/flow/ff0091dffe5b121e0663. This flow utilizes MQTT to broadcast UDP signals to a MiLight hub, gradually changing colors from red to yellow to white over approximately 30 minutes. By adding inject nodes to the MQTT output, you can schedule the transitions. The original design was scaled up to accommodate the larger fixture and resulted in a sturdy build that printed within three hours using PLA filament.
