This imposing Basalt kneeling naophorus statue vividly portrays Wahibre, a man who occupied many high-ranking positions. He is depicted with reverence, his knees bent as he cradles a shrine or naos that holds the figure of Osiris, the revered god of the afterlife. The plinth and back-pillar surrounding this magnificent statue are inscribed with Wahibre's distinguished titles, names of his parents, and a humble plea for offerings to be made in his honor. Crafted around the Twenty-Sixth Dynasty, circa 530 BC, this remarkable piece of art stands as a testament to the ingenuity and skill of its creators. This object is part of the groundbreaking "Scan The World" initiative.
