Wafer alignment box
thingiverse
This is a specialized alignment box designed specifically for 3D templating of microfluidic devices using silicon or glass wafers. The application of this technology was first showcased in the groundbreaking study "Macro-to-micro interfacing to microfluidic channels using 3D-printed templates: application to time-resolved secretion sampling of endocrine tissue" published in Analyst, 2016. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer Model: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: The type of raft used is not critical for this process. Supports: In most cases, supports are unnecessary when printing the wafer alignment box. Resolution: A resolution of .2 millimeters is ideal for precise templating. Infill: An infill percentage of 25-50% provides optimal structural integrity while minimizing material usage. Post-Printing: To secure the wafer in place, first trim it down to size and then apply a minimal amount of epoxy or silicon sealant.
