The area marked WM2B is home to the most densely populated area within Wādī Maṭar. It's also distinguished by South Arabic inscriptions that date back to early 1st millennium BC. Notable monumental architecture, including a gate measuring 2 meters wide, can be observed in various locations. Surface remains and stratigraphy examined since 2017 indicate human presence dating back to at least the start of the 1st millennium BC (Ancient South Arabian period). Additional occupation phases are confirmed during the first centuries of the Common Era and later in the 4th-7th century, marking a modest occasional presence by then. The photogrammetric coverage of buildings was carried out in January 2019 as part of the Saudi-French archaeological mission to the Farasan Islands (SCTH, University Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne) led by Director Solène Marion de Procé.
