Wade Style Big Gear - Offset Hobbed Bolt Problem Solver

Wade Style Big Gear - Offset Hobbed Bolt Problem Solver

thingiverse

Have you ever had one of those lovely hobbed bolts that came out a fraction too small for a standard big gear on your Greg Frost/Jonas Keuhling/Wade style extruder? I had just such an experience when I purchased a super neatly hobbed bolt, only to be stymied by its imperfection. Feeling rather sentimental about the pricey item, I refused to discard it and decided instead to fashion a custom-made big gear with an impressively recessed hexagon socket. With the aid of a few judiciously placed shims at the bolt head's base, it becomes surprisingly easy to line up that tiny hobbed area perfectly with the feed path inside the extruder body itself.
