This baseplate is engineered to pair seamlessly with the micro x-carriage found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:972856. To detach this x-carriage base, simply undo three screws and it will come right off easily. The micro x-carriage keeps the x-axis belts precisely tensioned even when the extruder/hotend is removed entirely. It's designed to accommodate any type of wade-style groovemount extruder paired with an e3Dv5 hot-end, and it also features a fan shroud that can be mounted on a 40mm fan for effectively cooling the heatsink fins.
