WAAAGH! Banner bearer

The WAAAGH! is a term coined by Orks themselves to describe their massive military campaigns that rage across the galaxy, fueled by an eternal quest for combat and war. This all-consuming desire defines the very fabric of Ork "kultur," a concept central to Greenskin society. Barbaric and savage, the Greenskins spread like a viridian stain across the galaxy, leaving a trail of bloodshed and mindless violence in their wake. On the battlefields of the 41st Millennium, Orks swarm by the thousands, overrunning all who stand before them with a torrent of carnage and destruction. An Ork WAAAGH! is war on an apocalyptic scale, with entire civilizations exterminated and defenders' armies laid waste in its path. Orks are driven to battle like humans need sustenance and hydration. Their warlike nature constantly fuels internal conflicts or piratical raids against nearby enemies. These skirmishes tend to be small-scale and localized, lacking the grandeur of a full-blown WAAAGH! However, when Ork populations reach critical mass, they migrate en masse, unleashing a crusade of pure aggression that crashes through star systems like an unstoppable tidal wave. Ork behavior is dominated by the WAAAGH!, which also refers to the gestalt psychic field that affects the Ork psyche. This field allows Orks to instinctively recognize who is "bigga," or in charge, since might makes right in Ork society. Every Ork generates this field, and it grows stronger as they engage in combat and congregate in large numbers. The WAAAGH! gives momentum to the Orks' planetary assault campaigns, which are also known as WAAAGHs!. An Ork WAAAGH! is a holy crusade that combines elements of a pub crawl and genocide. Thousands of Orks gather around a dominant Warboss or Warlord, who is larger and more intelligent than his comrades. Then, they set off to find an enemy to vanquish, leaving destruction and carnage in their wake. Once the Orks have exterminated all available enemies, they turn on each other, engaging in internecine battles. The Imperium of Man's Tech-priests theorize that this gestalt psychic field also has a telekinetic or quantum probabilistic effect, allowing Ork technology to function as expected despite its ramshackle design. This hypothesis arose from the Adeptus Mechanicus' belief in a universal "Machine Spirit" that inhabits all technology, serving Mankind at the command of the Machine God. Mechanicus Genetor Lukas Anzion has noted that many Ork-built weapons will not function unless wielded by an Orkoid, possibly supporting this hypothesis. This phenomenon highlights the complex relationship between Ork technology and their psychic field.
