The Locust is a small, manned vessel designed for high-speed maneuvers and combat operations. Its crew typically consists of two to three personnel, including a pilot and an artillery specialist who operates the forward-facing ballista or rear-facing catapults. The rear-facing catapults are equipped with articulated legs, allowing them to move forward for reloading via an underside hatch while the ship is in motion. To prevent projectiles from falling out during maneuvering, they are encased in iron. The pilot of a Locust vessel does not use a spelljamming helm but instead relies on a simple rudder system to steer this highly maneuverable craft. When operated as part of a larger fleet, the Locust is often seen aboard a Tsunami carrier vessel from the Torilian nation-state of Wa. These carriers can typically carry up to 36 Locusts. Made from lightweight materials such as balsa wood and giant bamboo grown in Wa, these vessels are extremely difficult to hit due to their agility. However, when they do take damage, they often suffer significant destruction. As a result, some pilots have become suicidal, intentionally crashing into other spelljamming vessels while carrying large quantities of smokepowder or Greek fire for explosive effect. This model was created using the following base models: Ballista by Duskdark and Cricket by caj.
