W78 Thermonuclear warheads (x3 payload) inside MK12A Rentry vehicle
thingiverse
I designed this model after studying numerous photos, designs, blueprints, and making educated guesses about the classified components within its core. I envisioned a system consisting of three W78 Thermonuclear Warheads housed inside a Mk-12A Reentry Vehicle typically attached to a MinuteMan III ICBM. Each warhead yields 350 megatons, and now offers the flexibility to have up to seven individual warheads mounted behind the nose cone. Within the files, you'll find multiple versions, some of which are fully assembled (print in place) while others can be assembled piece by piece. If you encounter any issues, please don't hesitate to let me know and I'll be happy to make the necessary adjustments. Update: 9/7/18 •W78_Warhead_-_cutaway_fixed.stl - updated with an alignment hole at its base •W78_pit_+_guide.stl - resized alignment hole for better fit •w78mk12_RVx3_payload_completely_assembled_cross_section.stl - adjusted alignment hole for improved assembly •W78 pit + guide cross section.stl - corrected upload to display a clear cross-section view •I recommend printing at 20% and increasing wall thickness for a more stable model; the components may become fragile when fitted together.
