I assembled a makeshift LED strip using materials on hand since I didn't have one readily available. The wires are attached directly to the hotend fan. The edges of the LED PCB were sufficiently sharp to remove insulation from the power wires and establish contact when pressed, as shown in the photo accompanying this assembly.
