W124 Headlight Wiper Motor Shaft Lock
thingiverse
The primary function of this component is to secure the wiper motor assembly firmly in place on the headlight housing, also acting as a crucial torque limiter during operation. This part is typically integrated into the wiper motor assembly and not sold separately at dealerships. Unfortunately, it tends to break easily when attempting to remove the motor assembly, which should be a rare occurrence. However, if it does break, the cost of a new motor can reach several hundred dollars, while replacing the filament costs merely 20 cents - a clear no-brainer. There are two versions available: - The "K" STL design is specifically compatible with motors produced by SWF and fits both left and right sides. - The "L" STL model accommodates motors made by SWF and Bosch for both left and right sides, featuring an enhanced upper notch design that closely resembles the original. Both prints were thoroughly tested on genuine W124 chassis parts from SWF and Bosch. They fit perfectly, but may require minor adjustments to the potting epoxy surrounding the motor cables in SWF units or urethane in Bosch units.
