I'm building a custom enclosure for my temperature gauge using a K40 laser cutter and 3mm acrylic. The eBay W1209 temp gauge is a great find, and I scored it for cheap. The screw holes on the case are nearly 3mm in diameter, making it easy to tap or drill them to fit your specific needs. As an added bonus, the tolerances are quite tight, which means the case will remain securely together even without the screws. However, due to the asymmetrical design of the parts, you might need to flip some pieces around to ensure they line up perfectly square.
