W Engines

Volkswagen's W16 engine design, used in the Bugatti Veyron, was an innovative layout that featured four banks of cylinders. The company initially introduced W8 and W12 versions before perfecting the ultimate W16 configuration. If you downloaded the W16 early on and experienced issues with the crank, update your file or try the remixed version. To assemble the engine, print one crankshaft and two sets of components for the W8, while the W12 requires two cranks and four sets of components. Ensure a smooth fit by sanding or honing parts and using 3mm filament for wrist pins. Assemble the pistons, rods, and crankshaft according to the provided reference photos, with the piston crowns facing the center of the block. Secure end pins in place using glue if necessary.
