VW UHV adaptor (angled + cable holes)
thingiverse
As I installed a brand new RCD-330 car audio device featuring Apple CarPlay in my Passat 3C B6, I aimed to repurpose my existing VW phone adapter. To accomplish this goal, I first added a USB extension cable to the rear of the new radio. Next, I disassembled the phone adapter, removed its original cable and carefully pushed it through the hole in the dashboard. After that, I positioned the radio's USB cable directly behind the phone adapter and connected a short charging cable to it. Finally, I printed the adapter using my 3D printer, threaded the cable through it and securely attached the phone mount specifically designed for my smartphone. This custom solution was created with Tinkercad. Check it out online at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/kiViB4Mkc33
