VW MKII GLI 16V badge

These emblems are scarce without shelling out $80+ for a pre-owned one. A buddy hired me to craft a replacement for his ride. It's not 100% spot on, I designed it based off an image I pulled from the internet. I'm working on scoring an actual emblem that I can scan to create a more accurate model. I didn't use a font for the text. Print Settings Printer: MendelMax 3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: The higher, the better. Infill: Solid Notes: I suggest printing at a higher resolution with solid infill and ideally using ABS. Post-Printing Gently sand and remove any printing defects. Spray multiple coats of a high-build black primer to fill in gaps and voids. Cure overnight. Lightly sand again. Mask off the "16V" portion of the emblem and spray the "GLI" letters with silver or aluminum. Cure overnight. Mask off the "GLI" letters and spray the "16V" red. Cure overnight. Mask off and cut out the Red and Silver areas, then spray the rest black. Cure overnight. Finish with a Gloss to semi-gloss clear coat. I recommend letting the paint cure overnight between each color and before applying tape over fresh paint. This will yield the best results and minimize risk of mistakes. If printing with ABS, you could vapor treat it but primer should fill in voids and make things look smooth.
