I've been tinkering with this project for a few weeks now; it started off as a way to learn surface modeling in Solidworks, but quickly got out of hand. With other projects on the go, I haven't had time to work on this lately, so I thought I'd share where I'm at - maybe someone else will find these files useful as a base for their own project or want to take it further by remixing or finishing off the RC side. The chassis is almost done; it's got opening doors and hatches, plus a working side door slider mechanism. When it comes to steering and suspension, I drew inspiration from some great OpenRC projects - you can check them out here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:42198, so thanks to those folks! There are still a few things that need designing, though; shocks and springs, rear suspension, powertrain and motor/servo/battery mounts are all on the list. This thing is meant to be RWD and pretty clumsy - just like the real one! Tires can be printed from flexible materials like NinjaFlex, and the rest of the hardware is pretty standard: 10x4x3 bearings, some 3mm and 1mm studs/rods, and M3 screws.
