VW ID.4 custom center console tray
cults3d
In the Volkswagen ID.4 there is an open space below the center console protrusion, and this volume lends itself nicely for a custom tray to keep small items like wallets, keys, coins or anything else that you can fit there. This tray is designed to be a very precise fit to the car, and it will stay securely in place without having to add any kind of fasteners like velcro or tape. Mounting is as easy as pushing it backwards towards the center console, and then pushing it down so that the tongue of the tray snaps under the plastic cover that comes down from under the dashboard, locking the tray in place. Two versions of the tray are available. One with a divider wall down the middle, and one without. Note that the photos in the car shows the one without the divider wall, while the rendered image shows the one that has the divider. The outside dimensions are the same. To print this, your printer needs a bed size of at least 217x194 mm, so it should be possible to print on many mid-size printers, like the popular Ender 3. Wall thickness is 2 mm, which is plenty strong enough, given that the tray is well supported by the car. The only part that is somewhat fragile is the tongue at the front of the tray. It is not a problem when mounted, but take some care if you need to remove the tray from the car to avoid any breakage. Easiest method is to apply some pressure to the plastic cover in the car while tilting the tray back and then taking it out.
