I'm currently working on assembling the steering wheel of a 1971 VW Fastback when I stumble upon one of the missing plastic washer/retainers for the screws. These washers act as an insulator, preventing electrical contact between the screws and the metal to avoid triggering the horn. Instead of ordering replacements online, I decide to design one here since it seems straightforward. I print out a couple of these washers and they fit perfectly in place. This setup is likely used on many vintage VW models.
