A simple tool to split air-cooled Volkswagen engine cases. You will need a 3/8 bolt nut and washer. The bolt length is approximately 1 3/4 inches long. Trim down a 2-inch bolt slightly to achieve maximum separation. Place the bolt in the oil pump recess of your engine case, then tighten the nut until the case splits apart. That's it.
