The Volkswagen Beetle stands out as one of the world's top-selling cars, with an astonishing 21 million units built by German manufacturer Volkswagen. Its sleek shape, air-cooled engine producing a distinctive sound, and front-mounted trunk are unmistakable features that make it instantly recognizable. My VW Beetle was carefully crafted on a desktop CNC machine by Stepcraft using a specialized 1.2 mm flute with spiral teeth. To bring this model to life, I employed 6 mm beech plywood for the body and 6 mm beech rods for the axles, ensuring stability and durability. A small amount of grease was added to facilitate smooth rotation, while washers were used to create a realistic tire displacement effect, finished with darkened wood stain. For those looking to replicate this design, consider using a laser cutter as an alternative tool, but keep in mind that certain parts may require specific sizes or materials to achieve the necessary strength.
