VTX and RX mount - 30X30 and 30X50 Standoffs spacing
thingiverse
I began constructing my kwads by attaching the VTX and Rxs to the back of the frame with zip ties, just like many YouTubers. Yet, I soon discovered that when you're just starting out learning how to fly, you'll likely crash a lot, and the impact is strong enough to snap those zip ties. Fortunately, the gorilla tape held the VTX and Rx securely in place, preventing them from flying off. Nonetheless, I decided to encase them in a 3D printed case. The problem with building kwads using non-standard, inexpensive cloned frames lies in the fact that it's nearly impossible to find pre-designed STL files for your frame. I therefore designed this one myself. It features two sets of four 5mm mounting holes that snugly fit onto standard 5mm standoffs used in most mini kwad frames. The inner holes are spaced 40mm apart, while the outer holes are 50mm apart - a configuration that should accommodate many frames. The VTX and RX cavities are spacious enough to house most Mini/full-sized VTXs and Recievers. If it's too loose, you can always use a dab of hot glue or gorilla tape. A cutout is provided for accessing the Rx bind button, but since nearly everyone is using smart audio these days, I didn't bother adding one for the VTX - however, feel free to drill a hole if needed. Have fun flying. Consider subscribing to my channel if you enjoyed this content.
