The Three Graces by Antonio Canova resides at the Hermitage Museum in Russia. These celebrated goddesses are known for their presence in classical literature and art, serving as daughters of Jupiter or Zeus in Greek mythology, and Muses' companions. Thalia embodies youth and beauty alongside Euphrosyne's mirth and Aglaia's elegance. Commissioned by John Russel, the 6th Duke of Bedford, from Antonio Canova, who visited Rome in 1814 with a group of Three Graces he had sculpted for Empress Josephine. Russel was captivated by this creation, despite being informed it belonged to the Estranged wife of Napoleon Bonaparte who passed away in May of that year, and as such was unable to be bought.
