The statue "Moses" by Michelangelo Buonarroti is housed in the church of San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome, Italy. This Italian Renaissance artist created this sculpture around 1513-1515. It was commissioned by Pope Julius II in 1505 for his tomb, and it depicts Moses from the Bible with horns on his head as described in the Latin translation of the Bible called the Vulgate at that time. Artist Michelangelo Buonarroti sculpted "Moses" between 1513-1515, then produced a plaster cast about 1858. The original can be seen at the church of San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome, Italy, and another copy was made for Paris.
