VR Cooling Fan for Samsung Odyssey WMR
thingiverse
I'm a huge fan of sim racing using VR, and I've found that one major drawback is how hot it gets inside the headset. After just a few minutes, I'm dripping in sweat - especially since I live in a tropical country where summer days are scorching hot. Even with the AC on full blast, it's still a challenge to keep cool. So, I decided to push my creativity and come up with an ultimate cooling solution that goes beyond just blowing a fan inside the headset. I knew it wasn't going to be easy, but I was determined to mod my Samsung Odyssey WMR VR headset by cutting a hole in the rubber area. I'm aware that this could potentially ruin the headset's value if I ever try to resell it, but I just couldn't resist the idea of having ultimate cooling. After completing and testing my DIY cooling system, I can confidently say that it makes all the difference. The experience is totally transformed, and I no longer have to worry about overheating. However, I do want to issue a warning: this modification comes with risks, so proceed at your own risk. One minor drawback is that the fan sound can be noticeable - even when using a PWM motor controller to adjust the speed. But once you're fully immersed in the game and surrounded by sound effects through your headphones or speakers, the noise becomes almost negligible.
